Having a self-sufficient food supply during winter can be difficult, especially if you are living in a climate that isn’t friendly to that. Luckily, people are ingenious and found ways of dealing with this issue. That is why the DIY community can offer you a great piece of information about unheated greenhouses and gardening the entire year. Inspiration comes from Eliot Coleman and his wife Barbara Damrosch. The organic farmer together with his gardening author partner used plastic-covered hoop houses and greenhouses to simulate growing conditions 500 miles away from the location of his farm. You can see from the thoroughly filmed videos that the low-tech methods can result in some good yields. Watch carefully and learn in order to get your gardening working all-year round. Good luck and make sure to mention the pioneers when you are achieving success!
